  • Size: 2,000 sq ft

  • Configuration: 3BHK + Living & Dining + Balconies + 3 bathrooms + Walk-in dresser

  • Client Profile: Multi-generational family of 6

  • Style: Minimal Contemporary

  • Services: Complete end-to-end design consultation + coordination

  • Timeline: 7 months

  • Budget Category: Luxury

Key Goal: An elegant, multi-functional home that works for three generations—comfortably and beautifully.

Client Brief and Requirements

This home was designed for a family of six spanning three generations. The brief was clear: keep the aesthetic minimal and contemporary, but make the home high-functioning for daily life, storage, durability, easy maintenance, and adaptable spaces.

What the Home Needed Most

  • Storage across the entire house (for kids, in-laws, and the couple)

  • A quality upgrade in furniture, fittings, and bathrooms (older elements were worn and dated)

  • Multi-use planning for different age groups—lighting, cleaning ease, and flexible spaces

Project Timeline and a Real-Life Deadline

This project was completed in 7 months, and the timeline had a meaningful anchor: the lady of the house was pregnant and requested that the renovation align with the baby’s arrival.

Design Decisions Driven by Timeline (without compromising quality)

To meet the deadline while maintaining a luxury finish, we made strategic choices. For example, instead of time-intensive marble inlay flooring, we opted for high-quality engineered wooden flooring—elegant, warm, durable, and faster to execute.

Design Approach for House No. 201

A minimal contemporary home can look simple but the planning underneath has to be intentional. Our approach focused on: clean lines, layered materials, smarter storage, and furniture that supports changing daily use cases.

Space Planning and Multi-Functional Living

With three generations under one roof, the living spaces had to transform through the day—family time, guests, kids’ play, and even wellness routines.

Materials and Finishes Palette

A luxury look was achieved through balanced, tactile materials, kept calm and cohesive across rooms:

  • Laminates, PU finishes, glass, veneer, teak wood

  • Marble accents

  • Leatherette + suede + linen fabrics

  • All washroom vanities finished in PU

  • Custom furniture with finish sampling for every element before finalisation

Design Execution – Room by Room

Living Room (Designed for movement + everyday rituals)

A highlight feature here was the custom nesting coffee tables; a simple-looking solution that creates real flexibility.

Why it works:

  • When the central area needs to be open (parents’ yoga or kids playing), the centre tables can be nested into the side tables

  • Keeps the space minimal, yet adaptable—without needing extra furniture stored elsewhere

Dining Room (Luxury + stability for family use)

The dining area was designed for real Indian home usage: children lean, play, move around, and the table must feel secure.

Solution:

  • A heavy base dining table with a marble top to ensure stability and longevity

  • Designed for multiple uses—everyday meals + gatherings + kids’ study time, without feeling delicate or lightweight

Cost, Timeline, and Deliverables

  • Budget Category: Premium /Luxury

  • Timeline: 7 months (planned and delivered around a fixed family milestone)

  • Engagement Type: Complete end-to-end design consultation and coordination across execution teams, contractors, and vendors

Challenges and How We Solved Them

  • Challenge: Tight deadline tied to baby’s arrival
Solution: Planned design + execution schedule backwards; selected premium finishes that are faster to execute (e.g., engineered wood flooring instead of marble inlay)

  • Challenge: Storage needs across three generations
Solution: Storage planning integrated across rooms with custom furniture and sampled finishes for a cohesive, minimal look

  • Challenge: Different daily use cases (yoga, kids’ play, hosting) in the same living zone
Solution: Flexible furniture strategy (nesting coffee tables) to convert the space quickly

What Made This Project Unique

  • Multi-generational planning without visual clutter

  • A luxury minimal contemporary style that still feels warm and practical

  • Smart furniture choices designed around everyday Indian home behavior

  • Execution planned around a real-life milestone—delivered on time

Key Takeaways for Homeowners in Gurgaon

  • Minimal interiors work best when storage is planned early

  • Multi-functional furniture can make a home feel larger without adding clutter

  • Prioritise durable materials if kids + elders use the same spaces daily

  • Timeline-driven projects need finish choices that balance speed + luxury

FAQs About Interior Design in Gurgaon

What does end-to-end interior design consultation and coordination include?

It typically covers Concept & design planning, drawings and selections, material selections, budgeting and estimation, vendor/contractor coordination, and execution guidance—so the on-site work matches the approved design intent.

Can a premium/luxury home still be minimal and practical for daily life?

Yes—minimal contemporary works best when storage, materials, and furniture are planned for real routines (kids, elders, hosting, and easy maintenance).

How do you manage projects with a fixed move-in deadline?

We plan the workflow backward from the deadline, making design decisions around execution realities such as materials, finishes, permissions, and site processes to balance speed with a premium outcome, without compromising on quality.

Do you take projects outside Gurgaon?

Yes, we work across Delhi-NCR including Noida, Greater Noida, Ghaziabad, and key areas of Delhi (South/West/North) depending on scope and timeline. We have successfully completed multiple projects across various cities in India.
